Michael Briggs has been SVP, Commercial Lending with First National Bank of Pasco since June 2016. Prior to joining FNB Pasco, Mr. Briggs was a founding member of North Star Bank as EVP Manager of the Private Client Group, responsible for managing a team of five and focused on providing all banking services to high-net-worth individuals. Mr. Briggs started his role in January 2006 and stayed until June 2016. Seacoast Bank purchased NorthStar, giving the shareholders an excellent return.
Prior to NorthStar Bank, Mr. Briggs was Senior Vice President, Commercial Division Manager for South Trust Bank, Tampa, Florida, responsible for managing eight Vice President-level Commercial Relationship Managers, two Portfolio Managers, and two Relationship Support Representatives. He was responsible for developing and managing the sales process to generate business for companies with sales revenue ranging from $5MM to $35MM. Mr. Briggs started with South Trust Bank from September 2000 to January 2006.
Mr. Briggs received his bachelor’s degree, B.B.A. in Business Management, from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio. Mr. Briggs also graduated from the Florida School of Banking, Gainesville, Florida.
Mr. Briggs is active in civic activities with a focus on Metropolitan Ministries in Tampa, Florida.
